In case you missed them: The biggest platform updates this year (so far).

Terry's Take
By the time someone's at your checkout, their wallet's already out.
That's the moment most organisers miss. The merch table sits at the back of the venue, cash only, understocked by the second session, and completely invisible to anyone who bought their ticket from home.
All that impulse, right at the point of purchase, just goes untapped.
We've built a better way to catch it.

In Focus
How much merchandise revenue walks straight past you every event?
Running a separate merch stall means separate stock, separate cash handling, and no idea what's selling until someone's already queuing at your table. If you sell out of the popular size by lunchtime, that sale's gone for good.
Selling merchandise through the same checkout as your tickets means you know demand before the gates even open, and your customers can grab it without a second transaction on the day.
Plus sell merchandise in the lead up to the event, can help you detrmine demand and allow you to order the right amount of stock or a stretgic re-stock before the gates open.
123 Tix Platform Update
Merchandise
You can now build a merchandise catalogue directly through the portal, or sync your existing Shopify account to sell those same products through checkout. Merchandise can be offered across all your events or just specific ones, with variants like size or colour set up the same way you'd manage ticket types.
You control which sales channels each item is available through, and keep an eye on stock levels as they move. Once orders are in, generate a pick list to quickly see what needs to be pulled and packed, so collection day runs as smoothly as your gate does.
Next in Line
Multi-Event Shopping Cart
Merchandise means your checkout can carry more than just a ticket. Soon, it'll carry more than just one event too. We're building a Multi-Event Shopping Cart, so patrons can add tickets from a different event you run into the same transaction, a GA ticket plus a separate camping pass, or a main ticket plus an add-on tour, all in one checkout.
Terry's Toolbox
Don't try to stock everything on day one.
Start with two or three items you already know your crowd wants, an event tee, a cap, a program, and see what actually moves. It's a lot easier to expand a catalogue that's working than to wind back one that's sitting in a storeroom.
A Gentle Reminder
We sent a dedicated update earlier this month on the RBA's new card payment surcharge rules, coming into effect 1 October 2026. If you haven't had a chance to look at it yet, or you've got events going on sale for dates after that, it's worth a quick check now rather than a scramble later.
In short: from 1 October, a separate surcharge can no longer be added to designated Visa, Mastercard or eftpos payments, so any card processing costs need to be built into your advertised ticket price instead. If your event currently uses the Pass On Fees option, this is the thing to review first.

Did You Know?
Did you know your merchandise stock stays in sync everywhere you sell it?
If you've connected your Shopify account, your stock levels update across 123 Tix and any other platform or website you sell that merchandise through, all from the one shared count. Sell a shirt through your website and it comes off the same total available at your event checkout, so you're never caught out having oversold across two different sales channels.
One Action. One Click. One Improvement.
This Week's Action
Pick one item you could realistically sell through your next event's checkout, and set it up this week.
You don't need a full range to start. One well-chosen item is enough to see whether merchandise is worth building out further for your events. Plus, be strategic with where the custoemr might pickup their pre-purchased merchandise from. Sending them to the bar or hospitality tent, might result in a higher food & beverage uptake while they are picking up that branded stubby holder.
