Inside 123 Tix Growing Without Starting Over

20 October 2026

Terry's Take

One of the best signs that an event is doing well is when you're already planning the next one before this year's has even finished.

A second session gets added. Another performance sells out, so you add a third. Growth is a great problem to have, until your booking page turns into a long list of categories that even you have to think twice about.

The trick isn't just being able to add more, it's keeping it organised as you do.

In Focus

Every new session or ticket tier you add makes your event more successful, and your booking page a little more crowded.

Attendees don't care how many categories you're managing behind the scenes, they just want to find their ticket quickly. If your newest, most relevant options are buried under a list built up over several seasons, that's friction you've created without meaning to.

123 Tix Platform Update

Category Display Order

Category Display Order lets you rearrange your ticket categories however makes sense for your event, dragging your current session or most popular option to the top, and pushing older or less relevant categories further down. It gives you full control over what attendees see first, even as your list of categories keeps growing.

If you're adding a new session or tier by duplicating an existing category, Category Display Order is what keeps that new addition from just landing at the bottom of the list where nobody looks.

Event Calendar View

For events that run across a number of dates, activities, general admission days, or recurring attractions at a venue, Event Calendar View replaces a long list of individual sessions with a calendar and time picker at checkout. Attendees pick their day from the calendar, then choose from that day's available times, shown as simple start-time pills, rather than scrolling through every date and time bundled together in one list.

It's a natural fit for venues and attractions running the same activity or general admission across multiple days, and it pairs well with how we handle multi-date events more broadly, more on that in a future issue.

Next in Line

Organiser Followers

We're developing a way for attendees to "follow" an organiser directly, rather than just a single event. Once someone's following you, they'll get an automated email the moment you create a new event and take it live, no separate marketing push required to reach the people who already know they like what you do.

Terry's Toolbox

As you add new sessions, resist the urge to just duplicate a category and leave the name as is.

"Adult" copied three times over three sessions quickly turns into a list nobody can tell apart at a glance. A small naming convention, "Adult - Night 1", "Adult - Night 2", costs you nothing to set up now and saves your attendees, and your support inbox, a lot of confusion later.

Did You Know?

Did you know you can save your attendee questions to a library and reuse them across every event, instead of rebuilding the same ones each time?

Once a question's saved, pull it straight into your next event, or clone it and tweak the details if it needs a small change. You can also set up Sub Questions, extra questions that only appear based on how someone answers the one before, so your form only asks what's actually relevant to that attendee.

One Action. One Click. One Improvement.

This Week's Action

Before your next event goes live, check your category display order and your saved question library.

A few minutes spent tidying both now means less rebuilding, and less explaining, every time you add something new.
